Following hundreds of entries, a judging day where a panel of industry experts whittled down the entries, a peer-reviewed technical challenge and a record public vote, the winners of the Heating Installer Awards 2020 have been announced.
Phil Metcalf, of Phillip Metcalf Cooling and Heating Services, was crowned the national winner during an exciting reveal video streamed online as part of InstallerFESTIVAL. Representing the North West and based in Lancaster, Phil impressed the judges and the public with his attention to detail and positive impact his work has had on customers. Phil was closely followed by the national runner up, Todd Glister of Glister Services.
Ryan Carlton from Cleethorpes scooped the first ever Rising Star prize having impressed with his commitment to learning and his positive and calm approach when faced with issues. The Rising Star award was introduced this year especially for budding apprentices to recognise those who are still in training but are already working hard to achieve high standards.
Last but by no means least the Most Sustainable Installer award, which recognises those who are doing everything they can to minimise the impact of their work on the environment, went to Jonathan Coyle from Harvest Cornwall. The judges commented on Jonathan’s clear and evident commitment to sustainability in everything he does, from growing his own food for team meetings and using recycled rainwater in the office, to the advice and sustainable service he provides customers.
