The Apprentice of the Month competition was launched in 2017 as a way of recognising apprentices who go above and beyond in their qualification.
It is a monthly competition running from June-October 2018 that exists mainly on social media, making it accessible to young tradespeople. Each month, our panel of industry experts will shortlist four entries. The winner is decided by a combination of votes from our judges (who are the awards’ sponsors) and social media engagement across Facebook and Twitter. So this means you can influence the final outcome by asking your friends and family to follow the awards’ social media accounts to cast their vote with a like, share or RT.
Welcoming entries from every region across the UK, plumbing and heating apprentices should submit an entry via our application form, which asks a series of questions. With each application, entrants also have the option to submit a video explaining why they deserve to be the next Apprentice of the Month.
Entry will run the course of a month, with voting for the winner taking place the following month. When each stage of voting goes live, so does the next phase of entries.
For example, during June we will accept entries for the July Apprentice of the Month, which will be shortlisted at the end of the month. Voting for the July Apprentice of the Month will go live at the start of July, at which point, entries for the August Apprentice of the Month will open.
Representatives from our sponsors – Polypipe, Sentinel, Vaillant and Wolseley – will pick the shortlist each month and judge each entry, contributing to its overall score and helping to determine the winner.
