Powered Now protests over tool theft
Powered Now also recently stood alongside other tradespeople at a protest against tool theft. On 3rd February 2025 tradespeople from across the country gathered in Parliament Square to protest against the rising epidemic of tool theft.
The demonstration aimed to raise awareness of the devastating impact of stolen tools on the livelihoods of hardworking professionals – led by Powered Now user and industry champion Shoaib Awan.

While Powered Now continues to help tradespeople industry wide, here are a few of their suggestions to reduce the risk of tool theft:
- Secure Storage: Invest in high-quality lockboxes and vehicle security systems.
- Tool Marking & Tracking: Engraving tools with identifiable marks such as SelectaDNA (a Powered Now partner) and using GPS tracking devices can deter thieves and aid in recovery.
- Detailed Inventory Management: Keeping records of tool serial numbers and purchase details can assist in claims and police reports.
- Insurance Coverage: Ensure your tools are insured against theft to minimise financial loss.
And of course, Powered Now’s software can also help tradespeople keep track of their asset through accurate records in case of theft.
