Winning a Heating Installer Award is about more than taking home a trophy. It recognises the skill, technical knowledge and commitment behind the work heating professionals deliver every day.
Two Heating Installer Awards 2026 winners, Daniel Davies and George Tiefenthaler, recently joined Andy Cam and Todd Glister on Fix Radio’s The Heating and Plumbing Show to talk about the projects, careers and experiences behind their awards.
Todd is also a former Heating Installer Awards winner, having been named South East Regional Winner and National Highly Commended in 2020.
Daniel Davies – Heating Installer of the Year 2026
Daniel Davies, of Daniel Davies Plumbing and Heating Engineers in Lampeter, Wales, was crowned Heating Installer of the Year 2026 after first securing the Wales regional title for the third consecutive year.
His winning entry centred on the transformation of a 200-year-old stone farmhouse that had stood abandoned for almost a century.
Starting with no existing pipework, Daniel designed and installed a heating system focused on performance, reliability and long-term durability, helping transform the historic property into a modern, comfortable home.
Speaking to Fix Radio, Daniel shared more about the project and the work behind the award-winning installation.
His national win followed the Heating Installer Awards judging process, technical challenge and public vote before the winners were announced live at InstallerSHOW in Birmingham.
Following his win, Daniel said: “I’m walking on cloud nine right now.”
His success demonstrates exactly what the Heating Installer Awards exists to recognise: installers tackling complex projects with technical knowledge, careful planning and high standards.
George Tiefenthaler – Best Renewables Installer 2026
George Tiefenthaler, owner of POP Heating and Renewables in Northampton, was named Best Renewables Installer 2026.
George’s winning project involved designing a low-carbon heating solution for a six-bedroom property that also included a rehabilitation swimming pool.
The installation needed to provide reliable and efficient heating for both the home and the pool, creating a technically demanding brief requiring careful system design and planning.
On Fix Radio, George discussed his journey into renewable heating and shared his thoughts on where the sector could be heading next.
Reflecting on his Heating Installer Awards experience, George said: “I am very proud to now be a part of the winners community.”
He also discussed how recognising and celebrating skilled installers can help raise standards across the wider industry.
Celebrating the people behind the installations
The Heating Installer Awards was created to shine a spotlight on the skill, dedication and professionalism of heating installers across the UK.
Now entering its 12th year, the awards continue to recognise the people behind exceptional domestic heating and HVAC projects.
For Daniel and George, appearing on Fix Radio provides another opportunity to share the knowledge, experience and stories behind the work that earned them national recognition.
