Updates to the judging process 2023

Entries are OPEN for the Heating Installer Awards 2023 and as we’re seeing your incredible entries come through, we’ve had a few questions about whether anything will be different this year.

Well, the answer is yes! So, we’ve listed the main updates below and we hope this blog helps to clear a few things up.

1. Final scores will now be weighted more heavily on the judge’s scores (50%), with the public vote and technical challenge or interview making up 25% of the scores each.

Every year, there is an average of 12-14 industry judges marking the entries meaning that bias is virtually impossible and the best installers always score highest.

2. CIPHE will be independently moderating and assessing the technical challenges and interviews, as well as the scoring during this stage.

We’ve introduced this extra step to ensure 3rd party approval and verification of the scenario test and final scores.

3. The finalists for each region/category will need to provide the homeowner’s contact details.

This year, the top installers for each region will need to provide the contact details of the homeowner before the winner can be announced. This is to ensure full validation and verification of the install.

4. Additional categories: Most Sustainable Installer – North, and Most Sustainable Installer – South.

We want to celebrate those leading the way in renewable technologies, so we’re excited to have two new categories for you to enter this year!

On top of this, as per previous years, all entries will be completely anonymised and brand names / logos will be blacked out on any supporting imagery before the entries are submitted for judging.

We always love to hear your thoughts, so if any of the above isn’t clear or if you have ANY questions at all, drop us an email or DM us on Instagram!

We’re SO excited for this year and to see everyone’s amazing work being recognised!

From,

The HIA team 😊
